Our home is designed for Seniors over the age of sixty-five that are looking for quality care, companionship and added security. Our home is a state licensed AFH that is not institutionalized. Unique Care AFH is the private residence of trained and certified home owners who provide care and support for the health, nutrition and well-being of a small group of individuals, who, because of medical, physical, cognitive or psychological problems can no longer live alone. Services offered but not limited to, rehab, memory care, and hospice.

We moved him from a large facility in another city. I wanted him to have a more personal relationship to his caregivers. Unique Care AFH has gone above and beyond anything we ever anticipated. First and foremost, we had safety issues in the previous location. This has never been a problem with Unique care. Not only is the staffing of high-quality, but they are limited so that all staff know my dad, and recognize any changes that come up, especially when there are medical things to be noted. When I first interview interviewed with Unique care, I arrived on a day that they were not expecting me because of a miscommunication between the two of us. So even un anticipated, the home was clean, the other residents appeared to be happy, and I was welcomed in. I like the engagement of the caregivers with my dad. They know his likes, his dislikes and his quirks. When there are distasteful things that happen like BM accidents, they treat him with pure kindness and understanding, and he never feels humiliated. I have witnessed other residents being upset or even cantankerous, and have always watched the caregivers treat each one of the residents with kindness, and tenderness and understanding. Above when there are things that come up, for my dad, for example, his dislike of certain things for meals, or trying to work with him when he says he wants to stay up, but it is obvious he needs to be in bed, they not only communicate with him well but they also communicate with me. They allow me to be as involved in decision-making and his daily care, as I want to be. The owners and the caregivers all feel like friends after my dad has been there for 2 1/2 years. There is NOTHING that I would change about this care home. I am continually impressed and grateful that we found this home.
